The Real Ampharos

This is my entry for the first section of 's pokemon challenge contest. The two others will come soon (better be, the deadline's tomorrow).

Making pokemon look realistic is so much fun. You might know by my other pokemon drawings that I reallyenjoy it and more like prefer more realistic style. This time I tried to make it even more realistic. I'm not sure if I would've drawn Ampharos like that even if it didn't have to be realistic. Imight have drawn it like that anyway.
Picking the pokemon species for this one was very hard, many of them would've been so much fun to draw as a realistic one. I thought about drawing Kadabra, Tyranitar, Typhlosion, Xatu and Absol too, for example, but I ended up with Ampharos because could perfectly picture a realistic Ampharos in my mind. This is completely my opinion of it, though. :3 I have no idea what kind of animal Ampharos would be, but luckily that wasn't the task, forcefully trying to make the pokemon resemble an animal.
Ampharos is a great pokemon anyway. I think it doesn't get the attention it deserves. I think the design is very nice but in the games it is a pure gold mine. Too bad you can't have an Ampharos in many games, Gold is one of them if I remember right. It is so great in battles, its stats are wonderful and electric pokemon is always useful. I think Ampharos is a bit like Lapras (which is AWESOME <3) because it can learn various moves. I think Ampharos is one of the best electric pokemon there is. Jolteon is still my favourite of that type.
I really like the outcome. I had no troubles with this one and it was very fun to do. I didn't do a background because of lack of time. But it doesn't look bad this way either. Especially I like those back legs, they turned out really nicely.
