I listened to my heart beating
The faint rush of my blood I listened to my heart beating The echoes from space. This is my entry for What, am I actually early with this? Nooo way, it can't be :'D But I am, and I'm quite proud of this, too! Yes, it is very late now, but I wanted to finish this because I know that I couldn't sleep properly if I didn't finish this. Drawing this was way too fun. 8) I have been hugely addicted to the sky. I find myself staring into the sky, watching clouds and admiring the colours of sky more and more often. Not only that, but Amorphis' new album 'Skyforger' has even increased this addiction. Their new song are so close to skie and I really love the atmosphere they have. Especially the song called 'Sky Is Mine' which is my favourite song at the moment. That song also helped me a lot with this drawing, it gave me inspiration and drawing while listening to this song was really awesome. I enjoyed this drawing a lot, not only because of the idea or the song, but also because I used so many different mediums - all my favourites. For starters, I didn't have any specific idea when I started to skecth this. I just wanted to draw the character with a pose that wasn't so ordinary. And this pose came in my mind and I thought it would be too hard and I would fail with it. I didn't use any references with this picture and I think the pose looks very good, actually. The anatomy is a bit off in some places, or then it's just my imagination. Anyway, then I remembered my Biohazard-drawing with crappy blur-editing. I tried to create some depth in the picture using Photoshop's blur tool. This time I wanted to try to create the same effect - with traditional tools only. It is for you to judge if I succeeded with it or not, but I think it came out quite well. But please tell me what you think about this, your comments are the most precious things I receive on dA, because without any feedback it is harder to improve. Critique would be very appreciated too. ^^ And now that you know where the title for the picture comes from (if you read this long comment from the very begining) I recommend you to listen the song: Amorphis - Sky Is Mine. [link] I think that it fits really well with the picture, especially the part with almost no instruments and the singer sings I listened to my heart beating The faint rush of my blood I listened to my heart beating The echoes from space. Listen to it if you like. ^^ I hope Psycer and you all enjoy this! 8) I can honestly say that I love this And oh how I HATE MY DARN SCANNER! I really ruined this, this looks so crappy I'm about to dig my eyes off my head with a spoon! >.<''' The real version is loads and loads better... dfasjdfjfkasgdflasgl Mediums Derwent Studio Coloured pencils | Faber Castell Polychromos pencils | Micron inks | Copic multiliners | Watercolours | Copics | White ink Time taken About 6-7 hours, it was quite hard to count, because I don't really keep track on my working hours Hippiäinen is c ~psycer Picture is c =ShadeofShinon Lyrics c Amorphis Comments

Having the most detail in the wolf and wings really draws your attention to what the picture is really about. And having a background adds more of a story to what the picture is trying to establish.
Like they say 'A picture is worth a 1000 words'. But this one I think tells the story. Well done, and you did just an absolute AMAZING job. Congrats!
