A painting I did for this year's Pokeddex challenge. Just like previous years I won't post the pictures separately but I'll make a huge dump of them when I'm done. This one, however, is an exception. It turned out so well I though it'd deserve to be posted separately.

This is for my favourite fire type. As I have already drawn most of my favourite fire types I looked at the list of mega Pokemon and found this glorious beast. When I first saw Mega Houndoom I was horrified to find Nintendo had made a mega form of yet another of my favourites (no, I still don't care much about the whole mega thing). Houndoom's design seemed to be way too much in my eyes. But when the first impression wore off and I could examine the design better I found it really good and fitting, not to mention insanely badass. It's not flawless though. The thing on and around Mega Houndoom's shoulders is a bit too massive. Not much, but enough to be disturbing. With some adjustments it could be perfect.

I tried to interpret Mega Houndoom's armor as bones it has gathered from the bodies of the one it has slain. I saw that as a fitting trait for a hellhound.

But yeah, conclusion, Mega Houndoom is a beautiful beast and I would very much like to try one on a team.
