A silly Christmas special I did and posted on Tumblr only, mostly because it includes an inside joke. I thought you might still enjoy it.

Aaaand, the annual Nuzlocke Forums Extravaganza nominations are open! I'm letting you know because people sometimes miss this or then don't nominate and the complain when their favourite didn't make it to the polls. This is also a perfect excuse to start reading more runs, especially with this year's rules, which you should also read carefully before posting your nominations since there is a chance your nominations will be completely disqualified if you don't do it by the rules. But you should totally check out some new runs, not only because of the rules but because there's awesome stuff to be discovered!

And then to the update.
I managed to post this before the year ended, yay!

And then, more sad stuff, yay! Maybe it'll finally start getting better after this. Maybe. Even though this aftermath has been going on for an entire update I feel like I had to do it, it was all necessary for the story and the characters. I don't think anyone can say the shadow of these events will ever completely fade but at least maybe now things can start moving on.

I feel like I haven't really stressed the fact that actions will have consequences, even in the world of Pokemon, enough. I know Nessa has been smashing shit even since 2010 (2011 officially) and it's been barely mentioned. In most cases it's been just property damage (like the Weather institute episode, but in that case only the building suffered some damage and Nessa did save the place). But if Pokemon are an immediate danger to people, that's a different story. I haven't been addressing this issue very much, most of the first half of the comic wasn't too coherent in a number of ways. Anyway, it was mentioned in Nessa's backstory and shouldn't be forgotten. Steven could take Thorn away if he decided to so Nessa's concern is justified.

No one in the surviving team has it easy. I wanted to focus more deeply in the survivors and their feelings, there would be much more than this but it never makes sense to bring it all out at once. These events will follow them. No one will just miraculously heal.

Disappear, yes.

Given how this update ended you might have some kind of idea where Nessa went but unfortunately you'll have to wait to find out what really happens next.

And one more thing about the end part, a little worldbuilding thing. Before I started thinking about the PC system more I was just like "okay, PC boxes, cool". Then I started thinking about the conditions of the Pokemon that are stored in the system. Will they live in the dark? Or are they sort of unconscious the entire time? Will they have some kind of pixelated space around them? Or will they have an entire virtual world around them? When Fenrir expressed his hatred towards being in a teeny-tiny Pokeball I though that maybe no Pokemon especially likes being compressed in a small space/PC for long periods of time. The PC storage system is so convenient because you can literally store 30 Wailord in a virtual PC box. But just imagine all the compression. Trainers catch a lot of Pokemon but don't use all of them all the time if ever so what do these Pokemon do? They "sit in the box". Some activists would definitely question the ethics of that. So I thought, in the anime Prof Oak keeps Ash's Pokemon in his lab and in the lab grounds, he takes care of them, feeds them etc. But there are many trainers and many Pokemon so there is no way one person would do all that, and so I came up with the Pokemon depositories. They're basically just branches of the PC system scattered through the regions, typically ran by IT professionals and/or breeders, sometimes it's pure voluntary work, to maintain and support the PC system and to take care of the stored Pokemon. The amount of care depends on each individual Pokemon, some Pokemon would probably be fine with being let out once every two weeks while some might require daily care.
I think the comic should be able to explain these things by itself but it's a subject that I thought might require an explanation to make you understand why I decided to do it like this.

And then there's Yggdrasil. Yes, you ALL probably knew she was going to show up sooner or later. You were right. Isn't she magnificent? I can't wait to draw more of her.

That should be all. Until the next time!
Unfortunately I don't know when I will be able to post the next update. And this is none of the usual "it'll probably take a month or three depending on how busy I am". As you know, I live in Italy temporarily and I have no scanner at my disposal. I don't know if there are public scanners in my school and I don't trust the copisteria people with my updates + they charge quite the sum for scanning a single page. I need to do more through research on the matter when the holidays are over but at the moment I have no idea when and how I will be able to post an update next. Worst case scenario is that I'll have to wait until August next year to scan and upload traditional stuff in general.
This is just so that you know to prepare if there is a unusually long pause.

Random question: I was wondering, if you've got a reason for the "a trainer catches an average of 60 Pokémon in his career" thing. Is the number just random or was there some thought put into it?
