Commission: Santa's Team by ShadeofShinon Commission: Santa's Team by ShadeofShinon
Pokemon team commission for ~SantaFX5

This refreshingly different from the previous team commissions. Mewtwo in armor was very interesting to draw and I never thought drawing Santa Claus as a Pokemon trainer would be so much fun! I like how this one came out. :D

I hope you like it, too!

Edit; A word from the commissioner to clear up possible confusion:
For everyone skeptical about my team, I chose my favorite from every generation, with an added Mewtwo to fill the 6th slot. I've always loved Mewtwo and I just think he looks badass with the armor honestly. ShadeofShinon did an amazing job and I wouldn't have it any other way :)

If I beat him in battle does that mean I get extra presents?

Usually works like these take 15-20 hours but I'm a bit bad at taking time so I can't always tell the accurate time. But thanks!

I'd practice, but I don't know where to start. Could I have some tips? And what programs?

You don't even need any programs to start. Just put a pencil to paper and draw what you like. It doesn't matter which media you use, everything counts. But if you want to do digital art, maybe GIMP or PaintToolSAI would be good. GIMP is completely free, SAI has an affordable license (or you can get a cracked version for free). Both are very good and simple programs, SAI especially, and great for a beginning artist. Tablet might be a good idea as well, unless you're comfortable working with a mouse, then it's not necessary. Tablets tend to be quite expensive though.
Nowadays people seem to think that digital art is the only way to go and completely ignore traditional art. There are a lot of traditional artists around but sadly digital art is overly popular. When you practise drawing it doesn't matter whether you draw with a pencil is a tablet pen, you still get the same amount of practise. The only thing that's different is the outcome and that's because of the differences between the two media. Practising the use of a medium is a different ting, but when practising drawing in general you can pick just any medium. I say you should just start drawing what you like and what you enjoy. Maybe start drawing things you wish you were better at. If you are having difficulties, using references and tutorials is very helpful. And finding some inspiration might not be bad either, whether it comes from music, other artist's works, nature, games etc.
It's really hard to say how you should practise drawing. You just need to find your own way. And the most important thing is that you keep drawing. There's no shortcut to improvement, you have to make it happen yourself.
