Description
My half of an ACEO trade with over . This is her awesome, beautiful magnificent character Zio, a wolf/fox/paradise bird creature. I knew the moment I saw Zio's reference I had to draw him, he's just so lovely. It was a pleasure to draw Zio, I can tell you, I enjoyed every moment.
Ookay. As you can see, the background has got some influences from Avatar (yes, THE blue-cats-run-in-the-forest-in-loincloths-Avatar), I couldn't help it. Zio's colours and the preferred enviroment/whatever made me think of Pandora right away.
I also added a nice extra - nightglowing paint. I always try to use it whenever the picture has a good theme and this ACEO was definitely a great piece to apply nightglowing paint on. Okay, it has some cons: it has to be applied VERYthickly in order to gain any effect in the dark and that's why it made the scan even more screwed.
The scanis actually the thing I wanted to complain - once again. It. Is. SCREWED. I gave up hope with the stripe problem. It seems it's somewhat permanent -> my scanner is broken, no, ruined. I want a new scanner. Christmas is coming but I don't have high hopes since I never get any big presents and I don't have any money either. So if you want to see more of my art with BETTER scans, please consider commissioning me so I can afford a new one.
End of the commercial part.
I'm very eager to send this to Tatchit. The scan is bad and the nightglowing effect can't be seen so Tatchit will be the only one who can enjoy the effect.
I hope you like it!

Very pretty! I love the dark colors & glow-ish background! But, if you say it's been ruined by the scanner, tell it I hate its guts.
I can relate to the scanner issue. Actually, it's my computer's disk driver that won't work. Every time I try to install something new, it never recognizes that there's a CD in it. I've given up trying to fix it, it looks like I'll have to get a new one. Soon.
I never really thought you could use nightglow (or glow-in-the-dark, whatever suits your fancy) paint on a picture. I know I can't see it, but I'll bet it's lovely!
And, I loved the movie Avatar. I can see where the inspiration came in. Oh, I have a special, Avatar-themed T-shirt that glows in the dark. I have to wash it inside-out to protect the glow-in-the-dark patterns, but it's well worth it.
